The HyperOS 2.1 update is now available for everyone. Here's the news and the compatible Xiaomi phones

 

Xiaomi announced the HyperOS 2.1 update in China over the past few months, but the smartphone manufacturer has confirmed that it will eventually be available to users worldwide. They also confirmed that the final release could arrive by the end of February. The latest version of HyperOS offers online connectivity features, numerous customization options for mobile phones, and improved file transfer between devices. Xiaomi has created a more accessible control center and office, along with camera updates to improve photography, as well as new features for the photo gallery.

Xiaomi follows the trend of other manufacturers and sees HyperOS 2.1 as its major bet on artificial intelligence with Super Xiao Ai, its AI assistant, which until now was only available in China. The company hopes it will be integrated into the ecosystem in a manner similar to Siri, Alexa, or Gemini Live.

The new version of the operating system will also feature an enhanced gaming experience. Xiaomi will offer gamers a range of tools to make the gaming experience more engaging and will add an performance dashboard.
