WhatsApp is currently working on introducing support for multiple accounts on iOS, allowing users to switch between different accounts seamlessly within the app.

WhatsApp has recently introduced new camera effects, along with self-generated stickers and quick reactions within the app. However, the company is not stopping there—engineers are currently working on several improvements set to roll out in the near future, including a highly anticipated feature that will allow users to switch between multiple WhatsApp accounts on the same device.

According to PhoneArena, the latest iOS update (version 25.2.10.70) includes the ability to manage multiple accounts within the app.

This feature was first discovered back in August 2023, but at that time, WhatsApp had only been testing multi-account support on Android devices. Now, it appears that the company is preparing to extend this functionality to iOS users as well.

With this update, users will have the option to either set up their device with a primary account or scan a QR code to link an additional account as a secondary one. This will make it significantly easier for iOS users to switch between different accounts seamlessly, eliminating the need for multiple devices.

Supporting multiple accounts on a single device presents some technical challenges. WhatsApp needs to ensure that conversations remain well-organized while maintaining privacy between accounts. Furthermore, notifications, chats, backups, and settings will remain separate for each account unless the user chooses to synchronize certain preferences across accounts.

This update is expected to be a game-changer, particularly for those who manage both personal and work accounts on WhatsApp, making it more convenient to stay connected without constantly logging in and out.
