According to research firm Counterpoint, global smartphone revenues increased by 5% in 2024 compared to 2023, with the average selling price (ASP) reaching an all-time high of $356.

Despite economic challenges in recent years, improved consumer confidence and demand for high-end smartphones have revitalized the market.

Global smartphone shipments also rose by 4%, marking the first annual increase since 2021. Analysts attribute this to the wider adoption of 5G networks, better cameras, and faster chips, which have encouraged users to upgrade.

Meanwhile, the iPhone 16 Pro series outperformed the iPhone 16 series in its first quarter on the market, indicating a strong preference for Apple's high-end devices.

The smartphone industry is expected to maintain steady growth through 2025, with AI-powered devices becoming a key differentiator. The Galaxy S24 Ultra is the first S-series phone to make the global top 10 list since 2018, highlighting the appeal of AI-driven features.

Low- and mid-range 5G smartphones are expected to continue expanding their market share, particularly in regions like India, Southeast Asia, and Africa.

As competition intensifies, brands will focus on integrating AI features, improving cameras, and enhancing battery life to attract buyers.
