If you regularly follow the world of tech reviews on YouTube, you’re probably familiar with Marques Brownlee, known for his channel MKBHD. He is one of the biggest tech influencers on the platform, boasting nearly 20 million subscribers, and has even been praised by industry figures like Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg.
Recently, Nothing uploaded a video to its YouTube channel showcasing Brownlee’s dream smartphone. They went into great detail about the specifications and all the features they included to make it one of the most powerful smartphones ever envisioned.
📱 Specs of the Dream Phone
- Display: 6.7-inch LTPO AMOLED panel with a variable refresh rate up to 144Hz and 3000 nits peak brightness.
- Cameras: A triple-camera system with 50MP sensors and variable aperture for enhanced photography.
- Customization:
- Three programmable buttons on the frame.
- RGB backlighting with 16 million color combinations.
- Semi-transparent design with visible components.
- Software: Android 15 running Nothing OS on top.
❌ The Major Drawback: It Won’t Become a Reality
The prototype shown in the video won’t actually be produced. Nothing’s CEO, Carl Pei, explained that a device like this would be extremely difficult to bring to market for several reasons:
- Cooling System Issue: The liquid cooling system would make the phone ergonomically impractical.
- Production Costs: Considering R&D and manufacturing expenses, the phone’s price would soar to around $3,000.
- Nothing’s Market Focus: The company primarily specializes in high-quality mid-range phones, making it unlikely for them to venture into the ultra-premium market.
🔄 Marques Brownlee’s Previous Tech Ventures
This isn’t the first time Marques Brownlee has been involved in such a project. Back in September, the YouTuber launched a customization app for iOS, though it did not achieve the expected success.
